Indian school jalan

History

Indian School Jalan was founded in 1992 to serve the educational needs of children of expatriate community. From a small school with only a few students, it has grown into a secondary school. The school is approved by the Ministry of Education, Oman, and is managed by the School Management Committee under the guidance of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman. Passing through 25 glorious years, the school celebrated its Silver Jubilee during 2016-17.

Indian School Jalan aims at imparting not only academic education to the children, but also the development of the overall personality of each pupil. The school strives to reiterate to its younger fraternity that true education gives one the power of fight and the fire to win in every situation.

Indian Jalan follows English as the medium of instruction and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, India. The school is functioning in its own building with an excellent infrastructure including a playfield, a basketball court, a computer lab, a science lab, a library, a Multi-Purpose Hall and spacious classrooms. The school building was inaugurated by H.E. Anil Wadhwa, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman on 11 September 2011. The new block and the renovated play area for KG students were inaugurated by Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman on 15 August 2022.

Indian School Jalan stands unique with its excellent infrastructure. As the logo states, it leads the students from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge.

Board of Directors

Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman is the apex body of 19 Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman. The Board of Directors strives to ensure that every Indian child residing in the Sultanate is provided with quality education and it would continue to make all efforts to further augment it for the Indian diaspora.
